Because the bar has a W-shape, you get less tension in your forearms because you hold it easier. This also prevents injuries and overloading.
A curl bar is usually used for exercises with relatively light load such as upright rows, preacher curls and tricep extensions. But of course you can also use the bar for heavier exercises because it can be loaded up to 150 kg.
With the curl bar, you use 30 mm discs, which you then secure with the supplied screw closures.
